Whitney High School and all our excellent programs are under attack. The Charter School Petition which was unanimously turned down TWICE by your RUSD school board is going before the County School Board seeking approval this Thursday evening. My sources tell me the county is strongly considering voting approval for the charter. If they vote approval, this means that Rocklin or Whitney High School will be forced to house a separate school on one of our campuses. The impact of having students who have no buy in and no connection to either high school housed at our high school would be devastating to academic programs, school activities, facility use, school culture, athletics and more. With the current financial woes of the state, we are already concerned about the loss of revenue to our high school and the impact that will be felt on class size ratios, teachers’ jobs and cuts to other programs. Having the charter on WHS or RHS will result in a financial drain to our schools. We will loose teachers, we will loose programs, we will be hurt in ways too numerous to list in this email.
I am asking you TODAY to email the individuals above, call them if you can, and PLEASE attend the county meeting in Auburn this Thursday.
THURSDAY AT 7:00 PM

Whatever your sentiment about a charter high school, these people need to house their school in a separate location from either high school.
We need your support to protect our campus and all that Whitney has become over the past four years!!!
